Your IBM Maximo implementation in eight weeks
Want to start using your new IBM Maximo application in a month or two? This is possible with the Gemba Rapid Deployment Plan. With this efficient agile approach, we help you get started quickly after purchasing your license. Naturally, in close collaboration, for the best result. And without surprises, because you know exactly where you stand throughout the entire process.
IBM Maximo is a very comprehensive platform that offers a range of possibilities. This can be overwhelming at first. To optimally deploy all IBM Maximo tools within your organization, they must be configured. The Gemba Rapid Deployment Plan ensures rapid configuration and maximum use of IBM Maximo.
Principles of the Rapid Deployment Plan
The goal of the Gemba Rapid Deployment Plan is to work with you to achieve an initial release of your IBM Maximo solution in a short period of time. We do this in a phased approach, without going for a complete reorganization. The starting points are the configuration of your location, your asset structure and your existing work order process.
Delivery in short sprints
Our Rapid Deployment Plan is based on the standard agile method for software implementations, but based on pragmatism and our years of experience with successful IBM Maximo implementations. We have adapted this method for our solutions, our customers and our organization. The process consists of short sprints or iterations, in which we deliver a part of the functionality each time. Such a sprint lasts two to four weeks, after which we move on to the next step.
Daily result
With the Gemba Rapid Deployment Plan, you as a customer are closely involved in the design, configuration and testing of your IBM Maximo application. This way you are part of the project team that performs all tasks. Every day the team reviews the sprint planning. Which activities within the sprint have already been carried out? And what still needs to be done? Whether it concerns daily activities, preparations or feedback: you play an important role in the implementation process.
Everything clear in advance
The Rapid Deployment Plan starts with the project initiation. What are your wishes and requirements for the IBM Maximo application? What needs to be done? And what does the planning look like in broad terms? During a kick-off meeting, we discuss matters such as the project team, the plan, the planning and the change process. Everything is recorded in standardized documents for a transparent process.
Operational system in four sprints
The first sprint within the Rapid Deployment Plan focuses on the installation of your IBM Maximo environment. If changes to your infrastructure are necessary, we will first discuss these with you thoroughly. You don’t have to think about desktop installations, as IBM Maximo is a web application. In sprint two, the master data is entered into IBM Maximo, such as location, asset, preventive maintenance and article data. The automatic loading of the work processes takes place in the third sprint, based on your functionality requirements and priorities. This step delivers a working system. The fourth sprint focuses on security, where we draw up a RASCI model and define roles such as administrator, work preparation, mechanic and manager.
Acceptance, training and rollout
After the sprints, there is a workshop in which the project team considers the result. This may lead to final adjustments to the applications. In preparation for the rollout, any change overviews and rollout documents are drawn up. Is the acceptance of your new IBM Maximo solution a fact? Then it is time for the rollout of the application on your test/acceptance environment and the training of your employees. After that, the implementation takes place in your production environment, with on-site support.
Future steps
It may of course be that adjustments are still needed after this first implementation or that you want to further expand the possibilities of your IBM Maximo application. Together with you, we determine the priorities for future iterations. Do you want to work with the delivered functionality for a while before continuing? That is also possible, flexibility is paramount in the Gemba Rapid Deployment Plan!
