Dutch IBM Maximo User Group in formation

Last month, the announcement was made at the Maximo Exchange EMEA 2024 in Amsterdam: a Dutch IBM Maximo User Group is coming. Good news, we at Gemba think. Because as far as we are concerned, you can’t share enough knowledge about the deployment of IBM Maximo. And the market in the Netherlands may not be large, but it is specific. What does a Dutch IBM Maximo User Group mean for you?

The Maximo Exchange EMEA itself is of course already a wonderful example of knowledge sharing. Every year, leading users of IBM Maximo from all over Europe, Africa and the Middle East come together to network and learn from each other. This happens at a different location each time. This year, the Maximo Exchange EMEA took place on October 17, in the Innovation Studio of IBM in Amsterdam. Various companies gave a glimpse into their IBM Maximo kitchen: how they use the software in practice and get the most out of it.

Sharing experiences with IBM Maximo projects

Gemba’s customers were also present at the Maximo Exchange EMEA 2024 to share their experiences with IBM Maximo projects. How did they approach their IBM Maximo implementations? And what does this yield them? For example, Philippe Kemps, project director at OpenIJ, explained how IBM MAS helps with the maintenance of the largest sea lock in the world. And Mark Weug, service delivery manager at Equans BeLux, explained how the company uses IBM MAS Mobile. The technicians at Equans BeLux carry out maintenance work on customers’ technical installations throughout Belgium and Luxembourg. With IBM MAS Mobile, they can handle work orders more efficiently and quickly.

Exchanging knowledge structurally

In addition to presentations on IBM Maximo projects by users, demos of IBM MAS Visual Inspection and IBM MAS Mobile, among others, and a presentation of the IBM MAS roadmap, there was also the news about the establishment of the Dutch IBM Maximo User Group. This user group lays the foundation for the structural sharing of knowledge and experience regarding the deployment of IBM Maximo. We at Gemba are happy about this for several reasons.

Why a Dutch IBM Maximo User Group is a good thing

Firstly, we at Gemba welcome knowledge sharing about IBM Maximo. Why reinvent the wheel if it is not necessary? Secondly, there are very specific IBM Maximo users in the Netherlands, such as the water boards. A user group at national level has a great deal of added value for this type of user. Finally, it is important that IBM Maximo users jointly submit issues and ideas to IBM. As a partner, we naturally also think about what our customers need, but a user’s perspective is slightly different from that of a partner. This is how we complement each other.

Participants Dutch IBM Maximo User Group

Which companies will participate in the Dutch IBM Maximo user group is not yet known at this time. We expect to have clarity on this soon. We will keep you informed of developments!
