What do you do as a Functional Consultant at Gemba?

Whether you are responsible for production lines, infrastructure or critical installations – each sector has its own requirements for maintenance, dashboards and compliance. Standard software does not always offer what you need.
With EAM and APM solutions specifically for your industry, you can organize processes more efficiently, keep risks under better control and reduce costs. You deploy your technicians more efficiently and support them with the right information, at the right time.

Supervise implementations from a to z

The great thing is that you supervise implementations from A to Z. You are your own boss and often have the final responsibility for an implementation. And do you see an opportunity somewhere? Then you seize it immediately. Of course, you don’t just do your own thing. Because within a project you work closely with a team. Everyone has their responsibility, but you never let each other down. Delivering quality together, that is our goal. Because we don’t do half measures at Gemba. No matter how beautiful a system is, the implementation of the software and services around it make it a success. We are good at that and proud of it!

What can you expect from us?

Before you get started, you will get to know IBM Maximo inside and out. And do you want to develop other skills or knowledge? We only encourage that, in addition to ‘learning on the job’. We also like the fun things in life, we like to make time for that. And we know how important the right balance between work and private life is.

The bottom line is that we take good care of our people. We won’t say we’re unique, but we are rare. You will notice that immediately when you step inside. We are not surprised if you feel completely at home before lunch!

Your employment conditions at a glance:

A salary between €3000 – €7000 based on knowledge and experience
Annual contract with a prospect of permanent employment
8% holiday allowance

What do we expect from you?

You have at least two years of relevant work experience. Frankly, we think demonstrable experience is more important than diplomas or certificates. But to give you an idea: with a completed higher professional education in a relevant field or a higher professional working and thinking level, you are in the right place.
Ideally, you combine knowledge of business processes, such as work order, purchasing, inventory management or ICD (incident problem change) processes, with solid IT knowledge.
You communicate easily, think both service-oriented and result-oriented and are analytical – you solve problems, have a critical view and think about how things can be improved.
In stressful situations, you know how to set the right priorities. And as a true multi-tasker, you can easily do several things at the same time – accurately and without losing sight of the details.
You speak and write good Dutch and English.

Everyone excels at something, and you always know who to turn to. Whether it’s a colleague or the director, you just pick up the phone.

It’s a relaxed company, you get a lot of freedom and responsibility, and there are always fun things to do outside of work. Plus, dogs are welcome in the office. Almost every day there’s one around for some distraction.

Given the market demand, I think Gemba will continue to grow. And the impact of AI will be significant. We will use it more and more, with clients and to make our own work smarter and faster.

I get a peek behind the scenes at large and interesting companies, such as Schiphol and clients in the oil and gas industry. When do you ever get that chance? When I hear how my colleagues tackle and solve problems, I often think: wow, we really do that. We help clients with issues that they have sometimes been struggling with for years, and then we solve them in a short time.

At Gemba, employees are central; they are pleasant and warm people who do their work with common sense. Everyone has a sense of responsibility towards each other, towards projects, and towards the company.

Human capital is Gemba’s greatest asset. If our people feel comfortable, that also reflects on our customers.

Gemba is not a large company, but it does have large clients and assignments. I love working in a small team where you can switch gears quickly.

The people at Gemba all work hard, yet everyone is willing to help each other. I find it characteristic that Jack, our director, does not have his own office and simply walks around the company.

We organize all sorts of things together, which is great fun. We just spent a long weekend in Winterberg. That was another great success. So many people came along that we had to book an extra apartment.

The world of asset management is incredibly dynamic. Different industries, different products, different people I get to talk to.

Gemba has major clients, giving it a unique position for a company of its size.

Every year, a few people get the chance to go to Maximo World. It’s a major event focused on the latest IBM Maximo developments, always held at a different location in America. I went to Texas in 2021, it was great!

As a consultant at Gemba, I deal with technology, functionality, and customers, which is a great middle ground for me!
