“The collaboration is always smooth and proactive, with expertise, thinking along, and personal contact being paramount.”
“It’s about more than just technology, it’s also about the people. The people of Schiphol and Gemba know how to find each other very well. That is important, because you have to do it together.”
“Gemba is a reliable company that always focuses on finding a solution and also contributes ideas. The people within Gemba with whom we work are always very friendly, and I always feel welcome there.”
“IBM Maximo is a proven product with many possibilities. We are currently only using a fraction of it. We want to get much more out of Maximo to further improve the maintenance of our primary assets. Gemba’s specialized knowledge and broad experience are very important in this regard.”
“We can rely on Gemba and are satisfied with the collaboration. Gemba understands the challenges of Schiphol.”
It is a small company where you do a lot of ‘learning on the job’. That suits me: I love figuring things out, diving in and exploring.
I want to gain broad knowledge first and then perhaps specialize. I also want to learn more about asset management in general. Fortunately, they are open to training here.
My workday is never the same. Sometimes I’m on the road visiting clients, other times I spend hours at my desk working on quotes and license checks. Then I need to shut myself off and focus. I enjoy the variety.
At Gemba, they saw what I was capable of, despite my unconventional background. That trust meant a lot to me. From the start, I was welcomed with open arms.
I Googled ‘Maximo Noord-Holland’, came across Gemba, and immediately applied. Within a week, I was at the table, and a few days later, I started as a consultant. That was 17 years ago. At Gemba, you get the chance to make a real impact. It is an environment where initiative is valued and where you continue to learn. If you like diversity in work and enjoy working in a close-knit team, then this is the place for you.
On average, I spend one day every two weeks with the client and one day at the office in Wormer. At some companies, that would feel awkward, but not at Gemba.
They interact very well with people. For example, if I take my four-year-old daughter to daycare in the morning and the road is busy, I send a message saying that I will work from home first.
A good work-life balance, diversity, inclusivity, sustainability, and clarity: these are all aspects that we critically examine. We appreciate innovation and are eager to develop both personally and professionally. Gemba facilitates this. IT is still a male-dominated field, but I have wonderful colleagues and feel completely at home. At Gemba, it doesn’t matter who you are or what your gender is; everyone is welcome.
The diversity of people is great, and everyone is welcome to be who they are.
The atmosphere is informal, everyone can be themselves, and people think and empathize with you. Our director Jack Lok always says, ‘the employees are Gemba’.
Gemba also contributes to society. We support various charities; in December, I delivered €5,000 to ALS in the Glazen Huis. Each employee has five days of leave per year for volunteer work, and we participate in NLdoet every year.
The culture is very straightforward, which I already knew from the Gemba consultants I got to know during my time at Schiphol Group.
At Gemba, they look at your skills and potential, not so much at your qualifications. Gemba puts you where your strength lies.
At Gemba, they give you freedom in your work, which suits me. And if I don’t know something, I can turn to my colleagues. Everyone is willing to help.
At Gemba, it’s all about people; you have to enjoy yourself. Because you create a good product with craftsmanship and dedicated people.
